Jerusalem is looking to sell itself as the place to choose for outsourcing of services including customer support and other business processes.
The Israeli capital says it has the people, resources and structure to deliver a world class service at a cost much more competitive than similar services in other cities and countries.
The move comes as the government expands its support to building contact centres in Jerusalem to house staff. Over the next two years, at least two thousand new jobs are expected to be created for both Jews and Arabs.
Jerusalem is focused on winning business from similar middle market countries including Ireland and South Africa as opposed to going for lower-cost countries such as India.
Through StartUp Jerusalem, a special report by Catalyst IT is aiming to show businesses the benefits of outsourcing to Jerusalem. The StartUp Jerusalem organisation aims to stimulate economic development and job creation in Jerusalem.
“Jerusalem's unique human resources and top-notch business environment, leveraged by significant government incentives, will enable companies to set up operations or services in the city and make significant financial savings without compromising quality,” said Jafar Sabbah, outsourcing cluster manager at StartUp Jerusalem.
As well as the financial incentive of saving on staffing costs, it costs 40-60% less to maintain customer support in Israel than in many Western countries, Jerusalem offers quality staff who can speak many languages fluently without any accent. The average cost for a customer support agent including related benefits is $8.50 an hour.
